Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide support for Information Systems and telecommunications, including hardware and software support; refer unresolved problems to the appropriate IT staff for resolution and escalation
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by providing first and second level Help Desk support via telephone or email for hardware, software, connectivity, and product specific requests, installation, configuration and testing of new PC desktop and mobile systems/peripherals
  • Provide real time ticket entry and effective communications between customers and remote IT personnel; responds to end-user issues via face to face interaction, telephone, or escalated ticket; liaison between end-users and technical staff to communicate issues; follow up with users to ensure problems were resolved successfully
  • Monitor and/or perform virus protection maintenance/recovery
  • Research patches, updates and solutions for computer hardware and software
  • Maintain documentation of all applications, security, and network configurations
  • Administer Active Directory, Windows Server, and VPN user accounts
  • Preventative maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of PC systems
  • Conduct end user training on capabilities as needed
  • Document related issues to maintain an IT knowledge base

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or equivalent education and experience
  • Two (2) to three (3) years experience in a help desk support position
  • Technical knowledge of Intel-based PC hardware, Microsoft Windows workstation operating systems, Active Directory administration, and Microsoft Office applications
  • Working knowledge of systems hardware, printers, scanners and other peripheral devices
  • Ability to create and apply images to new machines
  • Experience with install software from network drives, internet browsers and email clients
  • Must be able to travel when needed, could be up to 20-25% at certain times
