Essential Duties and Responsibilities (up to 7)

  • Develop/implement improvements to systems and manufacturing methods that support production of molded polyurethane foam in foam cushions and foam in place applications for manufacturing and assembly of seats.
  • Troubleshoot and solve production problems with raw materials and processes that may arise during manufacturing; develop and implement process improvements which will elimination such issues in the further.
  • Improve performance in existing manufacturing methods & processes to reduce cost. This includes procedures for refining and improving chemical usage or assembly processes. Projects include new process capacity, technology and new product launch.
  • Provide technical assistance to the production floor while introducing/training production personnel to new process procedures and manufacturing systems
  • Utilize troubleshooting and critical thinking skills in the areas of molded polyurethane foam and mold release technologies, logistics, new product development, quoting/cost estimating, economics, and new processes development during production. 
  • Knowledgeable in/assist with safety, quality, environmental and waste management functions as these apply to manufacturing engineering.  HazMat certified and experience in handling of waste disposal manifests preferred.
  • Knowledge of robotics and metering equipment utilized in pouring mold foam systems. (preferred)
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in molded seating product engineering.
  • Expertise in molded polyurethane chemistry, tooling, testing, design and manufacturing.
  • Proven ability to partner cross functionally and develop technical strategies.
