Summary of Position:

 

The VP-Finance for the Jason Finishing Group will be responsible for leading a global finance function for a $200 million industrial business with operations in 10 countries in the Americas, Europe, and Asia. This key role will serve as an important partner reporting directly to the business leader of the Finishing Group, providing financial analysis and insight to support business decisions and strategies. The role will provide leadership, analysis, reporting, and general business support for regular financial review processes and work collaboratively with internal customers (including senior management) to properly analyze and interpret financial results compared against budgets and forecasts in accordance with corporate requirements. In addition this role is responsible for all accounting, controlling, internal controls, and compliance matters for the group.

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and lead the accounting and finance function for Jason Industries Inc.'s Finishing business
  • Oversee the timely, accurate preparation of monthly reports, financial statements, annual operating plans, forecasts, cash flow projects, etc.; Present to senior management on financial outcomes and forecasts
  • Partner with business leadership to achieve consensus on business strategy and drive financial analysis to identify trends, threats and opportunities
  • Overall responsibility for leading the preparation of the annual and three year strategic planning process
  • Analyze company financial trends and work collaboratively with divisional and plant management to ensure operational efficiencies are in place to meet financial forecasts. Assess and analyze progress of business meeting productivity initiatives, report results, recommend course corrections where appropriate.
  • Partner with business commercial organization to implement 80/20 principles related to customers and product offerings
  • Oversee divisional capital expenditure projects that include growth, maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives with supporting return on investment analysis.
  • Identify, plan, and implement business process improvement projects driving efficiency in finance transaction processing and leveraging ERP systems (SAP).
  • Develop, manage and ensure compliance of accounting policies and procedures; ensure Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. Overall responsibility for all internal and external audit results in all Finishing locations.
  • Manage team of accounting and financial analysis personnel; develop and mentor team for success
  • 30% Travel required which will include domestic and international

 

Position Requirements and Competency Measurements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting with CPA designation, MBA preferred
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial statements, technical accounting, and cost accounting
  • 10+ years' experience in accounting and finance roles
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential to interface with senior management on a regular basis.
  • Strong understanding of ERP systems and business process best practices. SAP experience a strong plus.
  • Demonstrated leadership and partnering skills, including success in influencing outside of direct reporting line
  • Prior experience managing and developing a team, preferably global teams.
  • Ability to adjust to new, different, or changing requirements while conveying a sense of urgency and drives issues to closure and a relentless commitment to win.
  • Excellent written, verbal and listening skills and able to present to senior management levels.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects in a timely manner.
