This position is for our Janesville Acoustics business located in Southfield, MI.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (up to 7)

  • Manage an assigned group of customers; grow a knowledge base of customer's business and products; develop and maintain long-term customer relationships; introduce new products and services to customers, and own the relationship with strategic customers
  • Identify business opportunities with both new and existing customers; develop and execute sales plans and commercialization plans to obtain business and achieve revenue objectives
  • Act as trainer, resource and coach for account managers; represent department in the absence of department head
  • Assist in the gathering, analyzing, and presentation of market research information used in developing goals and objectives
  • Initiate and recommend changes to specifications and/or products which would result in cost reductions or improvements
  • Collect and organize customer documents, such as blueprints, forecasts, project schedules, etc. to develop and prepare requests for quotation
  • Prepare and present quotation proposals including pricing, payment terms, tooling, order quantities, and lead times
  • Analyze and resolve customer problems or assist in solving such problems
  • Gather data on competitors such as product offering, product features, pricing, etc. and gather data on customer preferences and requirements
  • Assist in the development of new products through participation on project teams
  • Prepare and maintain records pertinent to each assigned customer and project  

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
  • Ten (10) to fifteen (15) years' experience in a direct selling position; manufacturing preferred
  • Demonstrated expeience at growing a business portfolio
  • Market, technical (product & process) knowledge associated with interior and exterior soft trim and acoustical market
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects in a timely manner
  • Excellent customer service skills
