Summary of Position:

The Corporate Accounting Manager is responsible for the monthly close and global consolidation function for the Company, providing financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.  This position is responsible for ensuring business unit adherence to the Company's internal control structure and month-end close and reporting timelines. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead global month-end close and consolidations process and ensure that all entities are properly consolidated within corporate guidelines and deadlines
  • Review monthly financials, fluctuation analyses and related supporting information submitted by segments for completeness, accuracy and compliance with US GAAP
  • Oversee preparation of statement of cash flows and review currency translation adjustment impacts
  • Review preparation of key company-wide accounts, such as goodwill impairment, defined benefit pension plan accounting, workers compensation accrual, and healthcare accrual
  • Lead coordination with external and internal auditors for completion of audits
  • Monitor and drive adherence to new and existing accounting guidance, policies and procedures, and research technical accounting questions on an as needed basis.  This role will lead company-wide projects related to technical accounting issues and adoption of new accounting standards.
  • Optimize BPC (consolidation system) and Blackline (account reconciliation tool) to improve internal control effectiveness and efficiency through coordination with business unit finance teams
  • Develop, manage, and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures; ensure Sarbanes-Oxley compliance for global consolidation process.
  • Identify, plan, and implement process improvement projects to drive efficiency in the month-end close and consolidation process and other finance processes
  • Support preparation of external quarterly and annual financial statements and footnotes

Position Requirements and Competency Measurements

  • CPA with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • 7 10 years of accounting experience with 3-5 years at national public accounting firm preferred (multinational manufacturing company experience highly desired)
  • Strong working knowledge and experience with a financial consolidation process and system (SAP BPC knowledge a plus)
  • Strong technical knowledge of GAAP, financial statements, and technical accounting
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills and ability to manage multiple projects in a timely manner.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to present to senior management levels.
  • Limited travel as needed
