The hours of this position are 7:30am to 4:30pm 

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Use knowledge of the production process and machine capabilities to analyze sales orders / manufacturing orders and create production schedules
  • Analyze new and existing production order, review production specifications and identify and report plant capacity constraints
  • Assign production jobs to work stations and coordinate process operations
  • Schedule machines and maintain scheduling board(s)
  • Verify Bill of materials, routing and book production orders
  • Release jobs to production, track orders and production information
  • Assign production jobs to work stations and coordinate process operations
  • Assign start date/time and end date/time for production jobs and process operations
  • Review available stock information of finished goods inventory prior to scheduling new orders; release new manufacturing orders only to fill balance / backorder
  • Coordinate between shop floor personnel and planning departments to ensure timely completion of production jobs
  • Monitor job workflow and schedules to ensure on-time completion and on-time delivery to warehouse/shipping
  • Develop effective scheduling process to achieve production objectives, utilize level loading techniques to prevent bottleneck situations
  • Update schedule attainment and report progress to Plant Manager and/or functional stakeholders
  • Make schedule/production changes, as needed
  • Work with cross-functional leaders/managers/staff to develop potential solutions to improve production performance
  • Expedite and adjust work schedules to meet customer demands
  • Create and/or maintain Daily/Weekly/Monthly Reports

Position Requirements

  • High school diploma required, college education with Bachelor's degree highly desired
  • 3 + years of prior experience with production scheduling, manufacturing experience preferred
  • Proficiency with manufacturing scheduling systems, MRP/ERP systems
  • Demonstrated production scheduling experience using SAP modules MM/PP
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a timely manner
  • Recommend ideas for improvements in process, systems and technology
  • Identify processes that can be simplified and execute tasks needed to deliver
  • Willing to work overtime as required, maintain good attendance
  • Demonstrate superior time management skills
  • Must be proficient in the use of MS Office particularly Excel with data pivot tables
  • Must be well organized and able to manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to deliver training to other production scheduler(s) when required as a backup
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects in a timely manner
  • Strong interpersonal skills needed to build collaborative relationships with shop floor employees, co-workers, internal customers and external partners
