About the Job

  Perform scheduled facility and process maintenance and repairs.  Respond to unscheduled maintenance issues as required.  Maintain parts inventories, submit purchase requisitions, and maintain equipment files.  Communicate job status as appropriate to operators, management, and other maintenance personnel.


Duties/Responsibilities, Core knowledge:

  • Responsible for electrical and mechanical repair and preventative maintenance of facility and plant equipment.
  • Installation, troubleshooting & repair of low & high voltage (single/three phase) industrial electrical & control systems
  • Maintain wiring to NEC standards and ensure any new wiring is within compliance.  Upgrade outdated or unsafe electrical installations across the plant.
  • Responsible for electrical emergency & scheduled maintenance tasks across the plant.
  • Ensure assigned projects are completed timely, correctly, safely and to the highest quality standard.
  • Maintain a clean working environment upon completion of assigned projects.
  • Comply with plant safety, quality, GMPs, current standard practices and all other plant rules, policies/procedures.
  • May be required to work directly with contractors regarding new or existing electrical issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Work in accordance with OSHA and safety policies and procedures.
  • Work from ladders, lifts, elevated places, and confined spaces as required.
  • Daily handoff /communication with other shifts.
  • Detail job status as appropriate to operators, management, and other maintenance personnel.
  • Submit requisitions for repair/replacement parts as necessary.
  • Maintain parts inventory/shop/equipment files/records.
  • Troubleshoot, plan, modify and repair/rebuild all types of plant equipment.
  • Test new or repaired equipment to assure satisfactory performance.
  • Modify/fabricate as required using welder, cutting torches and various machines.
  • Work with solvents, degreasers, lubricants, and other common industrial chemicals.
  • Regular hours/shifts may vary as production and maintenance coverage needs dictate.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.

Skills, Qualifications, Experience, Special Physical Requirements: 

  • At least 3 years' experience in manufacturing or related field.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Advanced skills or trades training required.
  • Must have previous electrical experience.
  • Must be able to read, interpret, electrical prints, schematics & document
  • Must be able to use electrical diagnostic equipment such as multi meters, oscilloscopes, etc.
  • Must have knowledge of Industry standard motion sensing & control devices.
  • Expert knowledge of DC & AC motors & drives
  • Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics, some welding experience and electrical knowledge
