Essential Duties and Responsibilities

         MARKET INTELLIGENCE

  • Research, benchmark and provide technical assessment of the thermal insulation and packaging products in the Cold Chain Packaging market and define Janesville Value Proposition
  • Cascade the knowledge base and in depth understanding of the Cold Chain Packaging Market
  • Establish and maintain key competitor technical specification / performance versus Janesville's technical products to drive differentiation develop engineering play book

         PRODUCT PORTFOLIO DEVELOPMENT

  • Define the  product portfolio to support our growth goals and execute the business /applications engineering development initiatives to achieve them
  • Define market and customer product validation requirements
  • Develop and execute on DVP&R Lead process through all gates, development through launch
  • Lead and advise on design, development, fabrication, and manufacturability of a robust product portfolio both internally and during technical reviews with the customer
  • Lead the development of new product/process/equipment and tooling technologies and on cross functional teams to ensure customer objectives are communicated
  • Direct and assist in cold chain packaging prototype activity both for internal development and co-development opportunities with Customers
  • Develop future Cold Chain Packaging subject matter experts through formal and informal mentoring
  • Utilize extensive product and manufacturing knowledge to advise during the quote phase

        CUSTOMERS

  • Build, grow, and maintain relationships with key customers (engineering and commercial contacts); collect, compile, act on Voice of the Customer and Industry Trend data to develop new business opportunities
  • Target Market customers include :  Solution Providers (Sonoco, Cryopak, etc.), 3PL's (UPS, FedEx, etc), and End Users (Amazon, wineries, etc)
  • Define Key Contacts and Technical decision makers for the Target customers

Position Requirements

  • Bachelors' degree in Engineering or related field required or equivalent experience
  • Ten (10) or more years of experience in sales/application engineering or a similar role in the Cold Chain Packaging Market; supervision and team leading experience preferred
  • Experience with EPP/EPS/PU Foam based thermal solutions in Cold Chain Market desirable
  • Demonstrated success in sales growth, business development and customer development
