 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the maintenance of all site assets (equipment, facilities, and grounds) and for continuously improving their safety and reliability.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain maintenance and tooling department employees as part of building a culture of collaboration with a focus on continuous improvement. Responsible for clearly communicating expectations and holding team members consistently accountable.
  • Develop, implement and continuously improve maintenance & tooling systems that adhere to standards while driving results to achieve department and plant goals.
  • Oversight of all outside contractors working on plant equipment, facilities, and grounds.
  • Responsible for developing and sustaining a culture of service, collaboration and support of other plant departments.
  • Implementation and continuous improvement of best practices related to equipment reliability, such as Preventative Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance, and Reliability Centered Maintenance activities.
  • Responsible for driving utilization and continuous improvement of the facility's CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
  • Responsible to oversee and implement tooling processes to maintain proper tooling functionality as well as cost efficiency.
  • Coordinate all aspects of tooling projects such as technical studies, design, quotations for any scope changes, preparation of specifications and technical plans, project timing, equipment runoff, debug, and tryout.
  • Review tool designs for: Compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer contract/assembly requirements, and related specifications.
  • Integration of assembly and safety best practices.
  • Obtain tooling and equipment cost quotes and make build/buy decisions based on cost, timing and type of tooling/equipment.
  • Develop safe, robust processes on all new tooling that are capable of producing the highest quality possible and highest efficiency possible.
  • Specify new equipment requirements to support new programs and or replace existing equipment.
  • Works with equipment manufacturers to provide required training and assure equipment meets expectations.
  • Facilitate problem solving for ongoing problems in regard to equipment and tooling.
  • Evaluate and approve design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
  • Prepare change orders, requests for tryout and performance evaluation.
  • Manage detailed budgets for each program/project and control expenditures within budget.
  • Meets financial objectives by estimating requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Ensure all work is performed accurately, efficiently, on-time to schedule, and within budget.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records of assigned project activities.
  • Support customer meetings by providing technical competency in tooling and equipment design.
  • Manage and communicate timing of programs and open issues lists to Managers and Senior Leadership
  • Tracks tooling project accomplishments by comparing outcomes to plans; summarizing results; keeping management informed.
  • Identify new potential technologies with respect to maintenance, tooling and assembly processes.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field strongly preferred
  • Five (5) plus years of experience; including prior supervision experience
  • Detailed knowledge of and experience with maintenance best practices such as preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance, and reliability centered maintenance.
  • Proven track record at developing individuals and building effective and collaborative teams.
  • High level computer skills to include Windows applications, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Previous experience in SAP highly desirable.
  • Experience with project management and capital installations.
  • Extensive Plant level experience with significant proven supervisory and/or management experience.
  • Ability to interface, direct and advise a diverse/cross functional team.
